I painted my living room .....actually this is the dining area*<br />
And this is the (very small) great room...<br />

You can see that this house doesn't know what it wants to be so as I try to renew and redo I have to wait for the house to speak to me. It's a slow process and I'm NOT losing sleep over it, it is what it is...<br />

Sometimes I have ideas and I go looking for what I need, buy it, take it home and look at it forever til I actually do something. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"> This is another one of those...I needed a lamp for my craft room....</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4F6VlN6rBp4N4aJaDKgSttaseEGVxIJKXGRM-9wje4o-XTt28J7VZnYSfX9y_DJV3XBItH9tjfX9ez0dVMCDFzTzRvc2ct_FE56hB7QM98GxTYskc5YromLnDLSkBuZHjBOp0clIyQgbA/s1600/IMG_0414.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" r6="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4F6VlN6rBp4N4aJaDKgSttaseEGVxIJKXGRM-9wje4o-XTt28J7VZnYSfX9y_DJV3XBItH9tjfX9ez0dVMCDFzTzRvc2ct_FE56hB7QM98GxTYskc5YromLnDLSkBuZHjBOp0clIyQgbA/s320/IMG_0414.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> <span style="font-size: x-small;">This is what I started with</span><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZXxg6_Ds2YqBjuWbX45aVJJ5Sx9Dar0OH6UoTrvpumUi66KCa3Du26F3K9KT77I-gCDd7CdXrrYDglCI-etiOanJVJUFEIL73-CjD67U-_04fv3CxI2I563AKi8rzQOupAhLy5WFE1n8k/s1600/IMG_0520.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" r6="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZXxg6_Ds2YqBjuWbX45aVJJ5Sx9Dar0OH6UoTrvpumUi66KCa3Du26F3K9KT77I-gCDd7CdXrrYDglCI-etiOanJVJUFEIL73-CjD67U-_04fv3CxI2I563AKi8rzQOupAhLy5WFE1n8k/s400/IMG_0520.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">A pair of old jeans </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">3 different fabrics cut into strips <span style="font-size: x-small;">... 2 strips about 6" x 44"</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">the next fabric color cut into 2 strips about 4" x 22" and the last fabric cut one strip about 4" x 22".</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Now you take your jeans and with a heavy duty seam ripper (this makes it so much easier) rip those seams apart. OH! First measure down from the waistband about 14" or if you might want the apron longer cut it longer! Now rip those seams all the way up, then rip out the waistband and the crotch seam just up to the zipper. This sounds like alot but it only took me 45 min., really! </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">When you get that done lay the jeans flat and pin down that crotch seam and sew it down. It should lay nice and flat, easy easy...</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggDRrlPertt6qu31h4wV463CuEOr0aOhfqMTLAPXxbCO2AuiiJL6w2QLouJ_3nTiNOqiTU5BkOpTHLXzV7OKXuGXOEchFPrXavpNqUWsUHFDzj3TXIiB3DvD8dgn3OoXxVWV23NbbDU8ZC/s1600/IMG_0523.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" r6="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggDRrlPertt6qu31h4wV463CuEOr0aOhfqMTLAPXxbCO2AuiiJL6w2QLouJ_3nTiNOqiTU5BkOpTHLXzV7OKXuGXOEchFPrXavpNqUWsUHFDzj3TXIiB3DvD8dgn3OoXxVWV23NbbDU8ZC/s640/IMG_0523.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">See how it lays flat...ok take the strips that are 4x22 and press them in half long way wrong sides together, then (just like bias binding) unfold and each side press to the middle just to that center pressed line got it!?</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Sorry, <span style="font-size: x-small;">forgot to take pic of that but you get the idea right?? </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Ok now after you pressed both sides to the middle fold back on the original pressed line and press now you have your sides pieces. Encase the side edges in the strip about 1/2" and topstitch.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Next for the waistband...You will join the two strips together like this....</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjBFh9t0N_-HrF1Uv_c8tCWPvQ7O2y13wrOyv4UNbQiQkNHo8vfQU2boi5zImvUBg4GOjmogquFJmdleztH5WsW-jRypZSNPYnwYE45HxZwipASDak1y0XuNBiEoA0J2Zz7g2QT8X84w3I/s1600/IMG_0526.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" r6="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjBFh9t0N_-HrF1Uv_c8tCWPvQ7O2y13wrOyv4UNbQiQkNHo8vfQU2boi5zImvUBg4GOjmogquFJmdleztH5WsW-jRypZSNPYnwYE45HxZwipASDak1y0XuNBiEoA0J2Zz7g2QT8X84w3I/s400/IMG_0526.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Can you see the faint dotted pencil line from pin to pin? </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Just sew there, trust me it's ok, then trim that whole corner off.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">I should've taken more pics but hey it's my first tute don't judge...hehe</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Now my friends you have one looong strip which you will do the same as the side strips, right now, did it ? </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">OK center the strip to the center of the waistband and sew just like the sides...Got it?</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Ok the last thing is the bottom band : just sew it right sides together over the bottom edge and leave sides hanging out on each side cuz you're gonna cut the extra off leaving about 2" past edges..</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi85ZXSI_WE0QQqZNcPU3tv8FgIiPg5jS8VHwwXFt_dRsglwZNX-BvrNGeUUHLMaI7sMCXO6YAH_PnVB9x-T2iPMfwKJzMQ0cly65m-U-vl6lXsO9VZ4aWFiUNqvRWtR9nLsK7GSN7CKt6t/s1600/IMG_0528.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" r6="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi85ZXSI_WE0QQqZNcPU3tv8FgIiPg5jS8VHwwXFt_dRsglwZNX-BvrNGeUUHLMaI7sMCXO6YAH_PnVB9x-T2iPMfwKJzMQ0cly65m-U-vl6lXsO9VZ4aWFiUNqvRWtR9nLsK7GSN7CKt6t/s400/IMG_0528.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Fold in side edges of strip then the bottom hem is also folded up and stitched</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Almost done! Isn't this going quick?? OK kids now after you have sewn that down (did I mention about 1/2" seam) press it down and trim off excess to about 2" beyond the edges of side binding. Next fold in about 1" twice so its nice and even with the sides and stitch that up right quick. Now for the bottom hem fold up 1" twice and topstitch that. You're DONE. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

I always feel so much better when the weather warms up so I've been out pruning all the frost damage from the plants and getting things pretty again. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjchoiVJZbLmyaWnH8rLrfvP39yWYsvaXR2Tu9v17YGkm9dPQeJF8WRCeVP1CZxZtqecOdEDG-tNkNeUnGiLjg9wXEs9f9g1u96f0PLLJfgo6ZSF0CRkvekt52jHq-Xb4LlJRtAygvd9IyT/s1600/img26m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="357" q6="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjchoiVJZbLmyaWnH8rLrfvP39yWYsvaXR2Tu9v17YGkm9dPQeJF8WRCeVP1CZxZtqecOdEDG-tNkNeUnGiLjg9wXEs9f9g1u96f0PLLJfgo6ZSF0CRkvekt52jHq-Xb4LlJRtAygvd9IyT/s400/img26m.jpg" width="400" /></a></div> I saw this so cute idea in the PB catalog for spring branches....<br />
<br />
and these adorable eggs......<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTLnQrTEO-r9Dqxj_Rxj7fkR1v76b_FvnzQv-CyC_T1lvBOcZ3ldKjo71N0GXwRmassrm9NhQIH_b5nlztAKSpposs4rg02NWR56-3huFDiXzdPyueeGcIPUPZ7P1q395l29t0LvqHiOoa/s1600/img31m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="287" q6="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTLnQrTEO-r9Dqxj_Rxj7fkR1v76b_FvnzQv-CyC_T1lvBOcZ3ldKjo71N0GXwRmassrm9NhQIH_b5nlztAKSpposs4rg02NWR56-3huFDiXzdPyueeGcIPUPZ7P1q395l29t0LvqHiOoa/s320/img31m.jpg" width="320" /></a></div> <br />
I was also inspired by <a href="http://tizzilish-kara.blogspot.com/">these adorable and do-able eggs and branches</a> by tizzilish.....** So I gathered some of the branches I had just cut and sprayed them white. Then while watching American Idol I took my hydrangeas and pulled off the flowers and hot glued them on the branches where it looked like a bud would be. Some of the flowers I glued shut like a bud then glued on the branch. Since my white pitcher is small I didn't use as many branches..........they are just right I think! <br />

<br />
The eggs are my version of PB's - I found them at Michaels already in soft colors and speckled...all I did was find rub on transfer letters and it took 3 minutes, really!<br />

It's good! IT's fun and keeps the creative instinct alive and moving! I started out with this solid wood bookshelf/cabinet from Mexico given to me several years ago and it looked like this:><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgNViJMwDjKWJAcHNN77V17MUu2PzYbuC2AldhSHdO6q7d7P3L8ODX7zn4vPMWoCQBw88Vs2qVhJ28a9Ou5QrPURZ1OItVfxPd62m2SZhKwLpddGx_hLWCNd7RWX85J6UYV4F-a-2DYNxi/s1600/IMG_0345.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" l6="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgNViJMwDjKWJAcHNN77V17MUu2PzYbuC2AldhSHdO6q7d7P3L8ODX7zn4vPMWoCQBw88Vs2qVhJ28a9Ou5QrPURZ1OItVfxPd62m2SZhKwLpddGx_hLWCNd7RWX85J6UYV4F-a-2DYNxi/s320/IMG_0345.JPG" width="240" /></a></div> <br />
Notice the gaps and the uneven places...all perfectly ok with me!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNf77MVUXW0unTyUmxrXQHMad9LJp_19VBuoCuQ0DJVgkEEqkHg8b86cUfuzgWTfQKv_DsWdbPfoAKb8haxUPqGcTJqxkxr7FRA4-9jmNiP8P7Nb0t5OUAFftkVXslFUa8lvgyoNep2Ks7/s1600/IMG_0359.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" l6="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNf77MVUXW0unTyUmxrXQHMad9LJp_19VBuoCuQ0DJVgkEEqkHg8b86cUfuzgWTfQKv_DsWdbPfoAKb8haxUPqGcTJqxkxr7FRA4-9jmNiP8P7Nb0t5OUAFftkVXslFUa8lvgyoNep2Ks7/s320/IMG_0359.JPG" width="240" /></a></div> A coat or two of soft white and a bit of sanding on a beautiful day...<br />

Now you can really see the gaps but that's what makes it Shabbylicious.........<br />

I have to show you a close up of those drawer pulls, they have no screws, just attached with rusty wire which I had to pull out (not easy so hubs did it) and not easy to push back thru again but I managed it !<br />
<br />

I'll remind you...it was a bird bath, the top fell and broke, the base is very heavy, ya that one! Well here it was::::<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1lpFucNz99pHZ3Jc43NUmGZ4IuiwMj5IGGmsDFm36oGZStfdI1UlSSBV1L8zdQmgqwD5ruV8z0smucF1KemcP_7RGqQcQIeBtTiuK2skGuC0mcOvJT9w2hDB7cR3fSpg9Oj87FG1l1FkI/s1600/IMG_0092.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" j6="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1lpFucNz99pHZ3Jc43NUmGZ4IuiwMj5IGGmsDFm36oGZStfdI1UlSSBV1L8zdQmgqwD5ruV8z0smucF1KemcP_7RGqQcQIeBtTiuK2skGuC0mcOvJT9w2hDB7cR3fSpg9Oj87FG1l1FkI/s320/IMG_0092.JPG" width="240" /></a></div> Did I mention it's heavy? So hubs made the table top with some old wood planks we had laying around which did make it even heavier-we decided to finish outside where it will stay ...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaaiPExr5bv-lhv2PTGaXJGXpftRrmI52dmM8eTmznMHox16YzafTCHiW-4YNzuH9rkhhooi6StRMdW3Fch-WiRpFD14oizMM17VH1v8VrxWzsm4S6c6zVZsDKacICt6E9eSzR7Is_Qs9x/s1600/IMG_0119.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" j6="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaaiPExr5bv-lhv2PTGaXJGXpftRrmI52dmM8eTmznMHox16YzafTCHiW-4YNzuH9rkhhooi6StRMdW3Fch-WiRpFD14oizMM17VH1v8VrxWzsm4S6c6zVZsDKacICt6E9eSzR7Is_Qs9x/s320/IMG_0119.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>And now here it is so pretty! I use my back patio to paint almost everything and if you look close you can actually see the ring of white spray paint from the base, nice.<br />

<span style="font-size: x-small;"> </span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"> 1/2 Cup butter, softened</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"> 1 cup sugar</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"> 1 egg</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"> 1 tsp vanilla</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"> 1 1/2 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3 medium)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"> 1 1/2 cups flour</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"> 1 tsp. baking powder</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"> 1 tsp. baking soda</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"> 1/2 tsp. salt</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"> 1/4 cup cocoa</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"> Cream butter and sugar in mixing bowl. Add egg and vanilla, beat thoroughly. Blend in bananas-combine flour, bak. powder, bak. soda and salt in separate bowl-add to creamed mixture and mix well. Divide batter in half, only add cocoa to one of those halves(got it?) Spread the half with the cocoa in greased 9x13 pan, spoon the rest of batter on top and swirl with a knife.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"> 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes, test before that cuz you don't want them too done, they dry out and they are better kinda fudgy like (you know what I'm sayin') Enjoy!! </span>Lyndahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03597158580585051424noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-426173706062709471.post-19222422476870245002011-02-11T09:40:00.000-08:002011-02-12T19:48:51.062-08:00I'm Not so much into VDay but I really like these tags.....<span style="color: #666666;">I saw these so awesome tags made by Vicki at <a href="http://rustyroostervintage.blogspot.com/">Rusty Rooster Vintage</a> --she takes vintage recipe cards and "alters" them by embellishing them with old lace, beads, trinkets, photo graphics, buttons you name it and she somehow puts it together and it works! She embellishes all kinds of things you should really check her out, a sweetheart too!! Disclaimer: she is not paying me to say this...</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #666666;">I did not take any pics of how I made my tags. I bought big shipping tags from Staples and I had everything else and just went for it...I had stamps and distress ink and a box of vintage buttons from my grandma and other stuff...</span><br />

I've asked others more experienced than I and it seems to be quite a brain teaser. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUUrHMsCpIpMZ928AY6dPQrybTXxq_YVM3umO3ndXjayCSMVk9MGHbw3ov2tHzZo65oYYxX5aXNVXDkGvnEQxsCJEtpuABhK9zY25ZrHew1bkz-1vgwOPy5vpfyZfgKveno4NwisY-XGLj/s1600/healing-barsanti-sofa-before-0211-delongroommakeover.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" h5="true" height="250" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUUrHMsCpIpMZ928AY6dPQrybTXxq_YVM3umO3ndXjayCSMVk9MGHbw3ov2tHzZo65oYYxX5aXNVXDkGvnEQxsCJEtpuABhK9zY25ZrHew1bkz-1vgwOPy5vpfyZfgKveno4NwisY-XGLj/s320/healing-barsanti-sofa-before-0211-delongroommakeover.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><span style="color: #444444;"><span style="color: black; font-size: x-small;">This is not too much unlike the size of my room</span></span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP_dUVfgiMA6N9Mkb92ZTyzuOAa-bErMgst8U3JwhrkpntjK_NPxk5vqkI_7P69_u0xZsjJLQ-BZD6IYb-uuL7037wLnjQp4WJI1iLklElEpz6yRcPUD2TI9FT69mdg3pcYbxZGSn8UieX/s1600/healing-barsanti-finished-room-0211-deLongroommakeover2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" h5="true" height="250" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP_dUVfgiMA6N9Mkb92ZTyzuOAa-bErMgst8U3JwhrkpntjK_NPxk5vqkI_7P69_u0xZsjJLQ-BZD6IYb-uuL7037wLnjQp4WJI1iLklElEpz6yRcPUD2TI9FT69mdg3pcYbxZGSn8UieX/s320/healing-barsanti-finished-room-0211-deLongroommakeover2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><span style="color: #444444;"><span style="color: black; font-size: x-small;">And here's what they did. Check out that rug wow not for me...all the fabrics cozy it up, lots of seating too. They say to notice your furniture placement after a party when people have moved chairs around and that's how the room wants to be. Well I wish my room would speak to me and quick. I want to stage it better cuz we are looking to move and just want it more appealing since its a small house gotta make the most of it!! </span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">And {I hesitate} here is one half of the room in question:</span><br />
<span style="color: #444444;"><span style="color: black; font-size: x-small;"> </span></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5b7tQoAPjzojAWCdpkGPEt-fCIr1-jvkhlXKT0h57Bfaq8deMlsulY3XSGbqv2g4sGOBWVDj55JlynPx_XW8J42Cuifi9qBaT8aIhXd7aDW08FtTkdYVgLqbPtV2phX9Eve9aHhOvjyVp/s1600/IMG_0297_1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" h5="true" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5b7tQoAPjzojAWCdpkGPEt-fCIr1-jvkhlXKT0h57Bfaq8deMlsulY3XSGbqv2g4sGOBWVDj55JlynPx_XW8J42Cuifi9qBaT8aIhXd7aDW08FtTkdYVgLqbPtV2phX9Eve9aHhOvjyVp/s320/IMG_0297_1.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> <span style="font-size: x-small;"> You can see the sofa is at an angle and that big and heavy armoire is a pain. Behind the plant is a piano no less. Can you see my problem??? And we need access out that door. Hmmm...well here's the other end of the room.............</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"> </span><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJnf-0Voby-1DB6ILU_vhIg0-vF3Rcqy_3T-u7U18LG-wLHN14cGeXT14eJ9kr2Bf5l6ov3af61fGMX03oEz6hFMfgTvBsx2f872XDBUxV8FNoianO4-FBwsGzkdzW6NqTeVIdXCyJ5lkq/s1600/IMG_0298_1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" h5="true" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJnf-0Voby-1DB6ILU_vhIg0-vF3Rcqy_3T-u7U18LG-wLHN14cGeXT14eJ9kr2Bf5l6ov3af61fGMX03oEz6hFMfgTvBsx2f872XDBUxV8FNoianO4-FBwsGzkdzW6NqTeVIdXCyJ5lkq/s320/IMG_0298_1.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> <span style="font-size: x-small;"> That poor lonely white table is waiting for just the right chairs to go with it for seating in front of the fireplace....Off to the right is the kitchen. All the furniture I am redoing or finding now is for a different style and look completely so I'm in transition.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"> </span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"> Here are some pics of a cool looking kitchen and neat gadgets all from House Beautiful: </span><br />

Pair that look with vintage dishes, soft linens, aged photos actually anything old and carefully staged and we're in heaven. What is it that attracts so many of us? If we don't find it old we take <span style="color: black;">great pains to make it old, scratch it up, distress, antique, or generally just junk it up. Of course, its a personal thing, many don't like that look but those who do REALLY do! Is it an ERA we are trying to preserve or bring back? Is it a feeling of going back to times when things were simpler?</span></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzEbd2ZaJ92IOf3TGU0JsC3QyMKxa4x2j-YH8H11zVip9HtuzYw2O7-4ZMUkh562HU5lrI3k4upjTKzWXzf6R3rbG0bQDrK0CLVyd-sBHrzrMc9SjqTpB6BoDdYYlV88G22ODS6CWuh4hE/s1600/IMG_0182.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" n4="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzEbd2ZaJ92IOf3TGU0JsC3QyMKxa4x2j-YH8H11zVip9HtuzYw2O7-4ZMUkh562HU5lrI3k4upjTKzWXzf6R3rbG0bQDrK0CLVyd-sBHrzrMc9SjqTpB6BoDdYYlV88G22ODS6CWuh4hE/s320/IMG_0182.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">small alarm clock all metal circa 1930's</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

And here is a pic of my grandma's pitcher and bowl, so delicate I keep on a higher shelf in the bathroom, and a replica of the pitcher I found at GW a few years ago. You gotta really look and be sure you aren't buying a replica when you wanted an original, just sayin'...<br />

Ok guys, this is the best! I hoped someday I would have this antique secretary desk my grandma had and now I have it. She said she found it in 2 pieces on her soon to be mother in laws back porch. When she asked about it her mil said "that old thing? You can have it" so grandma took it home and cleaned it up and had it til her passing in 1997. It's still full of some old stuff which is where I found the clock.<br />

</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: center;">BUT I keep changing the finish</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: center;">it didn't look just right so I sanded it</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: center;">down again and went to all the lovely</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: left;"> </div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: center;">blogs out there to help give me a better idea..........</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: center;">so many ideas, so little time. Everyone has a different</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: center;">way or method. I've refinished some pieces of furniture</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: center;">along the way and was always successful for the most part.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f; font-size: large;">I discovered there are tons </span></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f; font-size: large;">of people out there refinishing</span></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f; font-size: large;">their furniture in all different ways</span></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f; font-size: large;">some sand, some don't, some prime, </span></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f; font-size: large;">some use <span style="color: #cccccc;">Duct Tape</span><span style="color: black;"> to lift off paint</span></span></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">for that distressed look! Ok well I'll just do what works</div><br />

</tbody></table>Here we are at the end of another year! Since time goes by so fast I think I need to make the most of it. I have made a list of goals that will help me conquer my fear of "what if" and live in the now.<br />
1. I will get a dog<br />
2. I will do something every day that scares me (that's a recommendation from Eleanor Roosevelt)<br />
3. I will not be afraid to share my nutritional/health knowledge with others<br />
4. I will defeat my fear and go out on a limb with my creativity<br />
<br />
Ok that's enough, don't want to get overwhelmed before I even get started!<br />
<br />

So I'm committed now and will spend the best part of the day before Thanksgiving setting up instead of practicing my pie crust skills. I have <span style="font-family: Times, "Times New Roman", serif;">soooo many things I have ideas for and projects in the works now that I can share. I wish I had taken "before" pics on some things but I will remember in the future! Any help is desired, tips, tricks, therapist phone #'s .........</span>Lyndahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03597158580585051424noreply@blogger.com0
